L'AMOR WOMEN OF POWER
The main goal of L'amor is to encourage every woman to love herself as she is. Every woman is worthy, full of power, strength, and beauty - she simply needs to look within herself and let it radiate to the outside world. Char Wong-Richardson
At 17, my life changed after surviving a sexual assault, and for years, I battled with my sense of worth, feeling lost and broken - all the while, hiding this with a bubbly, outgoing, social butterfly facade. Therapy helped me make sense of the trauma, but true healing didn’t come until I embraced self-love. It was only when I stopped looking outward for validation and turned inward that I began to rebuild my life, piece by piece, learning to love myself and turning my trauma into triumph.
This self-love gave me the strength to break free from the toxic patterns I had fallen into and to cultivate the unshakable confidence I carry today. It also led me to my first and only healthy romantic relationship, a dream come true after years of doubt and self-sabotage. I learned that healing isn’t linear, but the more I loved myself, the more joy, peace, and fulfillment I attracted into my life.
As a second-generation Chinese-Canadian, navigating the expectations of my culture and family added another layer of complexity. Can I get an amen from all the recovering perfectionists and people-pleasers out there!? But through it all, I realized that my biggest strength was in my vulnerability. Today, as a mom of two, an extroverted introvert, and your go-to hypewoman, I’ve made it my mission to help other women thrive—not just survive—after their own pain and trauma.
Whether I’m dancing to old school 90s jams, devouring ice cream, or dreaming of Hawaii, my heart is always centered on empowering women to embrace their inner badass and claim the lives they deserve. I’ve built a career as a self-love and confidence coach, helping others rewrite their stories and step into their power. If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that we are all worthy, powerful, and beautiful—sometimes, we just need a little reminder. So here’s yours: love yourself first, always and unabashedly!
