The main goal of L'amor is to encourage every woman to love herself as she is. Every woman is worthy, full of power, strength, and beauty - she simply needs to look within herself and let it radiate to the outside world. This page spotlights women whose life story serves as an inspiration to others.

Betty Boaron

As long as I can remember, I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. I always felt fuller, even though I wasn't. I always wanted to lose more weight, and it was never enough for me, even though I was thin enough. In high school, I was harder on myself and went on extreme diets, starving myself and forcing myself to throw up until I lost weight. Seven years later, when I was exposed to Pilates for the first time, I started training because of the physical aspect. I had just given birth, and I really wanted to get my body back. I had not been involved in any other sport or type of training before, but in Pilates, I quickly fell in love and felt connected to the movement and my body. Suddenly, my body felt different, my abilities developed, and I rediscovered my body—it took on a different shape. I learned to see the beauty in the process, loving what I see and loving my body for its abilities. The main goal was no longer to be thinner, but to make the movement more precise, be stronger, and succeed in another complex exercise. In the past, I would think about what I was putting in my body and beat myself up over it. Today, I embrace the fact that my body or mind sometimes needs sweets, and I feel physically stronger and healthier than I have ever been. To say that it has completely passed would be a lie, but it doesn't control me anymore. When I changed my goal, my heart became free to allow others in the process. As a Pilates instructor, I learned to give my environment and especially my trainees the power to love themselves as they are. I'm there for them—to release their self-criticism, and to embrace and love ourselves more and more each time.
